Shining at the Palace: Gold Award Success Story
Our school is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of the following students, who have successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award - the highest and most prestigious level of the programme:
Hanine Mia Tanush Amuthini Jessica Suda Lara Mariah Ali Bhakti Santhosh
As part of this remarkable achievement, a number of our Gold Award recipients were honoured to attend a special celebration event at Buckingham Palace. There, they joined other young people from across the country for an unforgettable experience including the opportunity to meet the Duke and take part in the official garden festivities. The occasion recognised their dedication, resilience and commitment throughout the programme.
Due to exam commitments this year, some of our students will attend a future celebration event where they too will be recognised for their exceptional accomplishments.
What A Day to Remember
The Buckingham Palace event was a fabulous celebration of their achievements. Students enjoyed exploring the palace gardens, meeting fellow award holders, listening to inspirational speakers and soaking up the atmosphere of this prestigious occasion. The highlight for many was meeting the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, marking a proud and memorable moment in their journey.
Each student got to try one of the palace’s gourmet cupcakes and also received a special commemorative tea mug to take home; a lasting keepsake of a truly remarkable day and a symbol of everything they have achieved.
We are incredibly proud of our Gold Award students. Their hard work, resilience and commitment serve as an inspiration to others within our school community. Congratulations to all involved - you have achieved something truly exceptional.
For any student looking to get involved in the DofE Programme, please note that we currently offer Bronze level at the start of Year 9 and Gold at the start of Year 12. Any queries at all can be directed to Mrs. Rhodes and Mr. Ward.
