World Book Day 2024

Whitmore's World Book Day 2024 took place in the library on Thursday 14th March. Four inspiring published Authors of Fiction, (Alan Durant, Gita Ralleigh, Malcolm Duffy and Puneet Bhandal) were invited this year and shared their journeys on becoming an author. This included their background in education, what inspired them to write and the meanings behind their books.

Students had the chance to ask the authors questions about their books and what they loved most about being an author.

Students were left inspired as they received first-hand knowledge on what it would be like, writing their very own novel, and they felt encouraged to read more books. The authors shared their tips on creative writing and how young writers could get started.
