SCHOLARS PROGRAMME LAUNCH TRIP TO WADHAM COLLEGE, OXFORD UNIVERSITY
12 students in Year 10 successfully applied to participate in the Scholars Programme, an 
academic programme run by The Brilliant Club, which aims to widen access for outstanding pupils in non-selective state schools to the United Kingdom’s most selective universities.
On the 24th January, these students had the opportunity to visit Wadham College, Oxford to launch the programme. During their visit, they had a tour of the college and had the chance to meet and ask questions of current students. They also attended a study skills 
session and a talk about university life. Students thoroughly enjoyed the trip as it provided them with a taste of university life at such a prestigious establishment.
Students will now attend a series of 7 tutorials to give them the experience of university-style learning. These sessions will be led by a PhD tutor on a supra-curricular topic designed to stretch and challenge the participants. They have already begun completing homework tasks which will feed in to their final
assignment.
At the end of the programme students will complete a final assignment, which will be graded like a university degree, We are hoping all of our students receive 1sts!
